Let's look at the "parts" involved in "getting a website up" for your business.
1) You need to have a website 'designed' and 'created'.
"Designing and creating" is the act of:
- actually envisioning what will be portrayed on the website to represent you and your business.
- arranging it in a pleasing and realistic fashion
- obtaining and/or creating graphics needed and resizing them accordingly
- taking that vision to the computer and making it come to life
- posting the site in a 'staging' area for your approval
- taking it "Live" once you approve it
Obviously web design is not your business, that is why you're here. You need to focus on YOUR business.
The above is just to let you know what is involved.
2) You need to decide on, and obtain (register) a 'domain name'.
Your "domain name" is the name you will point people to in order to view your website.
i.e. google.com is Google's "domain name". Unfortunately sometimes the one you want is already taken so it's best to think of 3 or 4 as backup choices.
You CAN register your own domain name, if you know how, but again, it's best for you to focus on your business and leave that to me. Plus if I regsiter it, I will remind you when it's time to renew, and save that task as well from you. This cost is directly tranferred to you with no increase.
3) You need a web server to 'host' your website.
"Hosting" means giving your website a place to 'live' on the internet; a place where people will be able to view it. This location is also something you need to update when you are registering your domain name (in step 2 above). Our web server will be the 'apartment building' your website will rent space from on a yearly basis (at very low rent, I might add). |
Now, let's talk about #1 - getting your website designed and created
Unlike other design companies, we don't use Templates. We want your website to be as unique as your business is.

Showing off our "flashy" talents is not the important thing to remember. What IS important is for us to get YOUR business onto the internet in the clearest most explanatory way possible.
